Security Standards SUP vs SURF

Our friends in Stand Up Surf these days publish this article about security on the success that is taking the sport and the increasingly large volume of practitioners, it is worthwhile to keep in mind for the good understanding between all. We leave here the main safety recommendations made for a good living in the water:
- It has started in waves where surfers. (Not to be in the best place to catch a wave when we started).
- Do not ever get SUP in waves where other surf if you do not have perfect control of your computer and sea conditions. (Sup tables are larger and more expensive to maneuver so you have to be careful with other people, both surfers and bathers)
- Always stay a little abroad about surfers. (Not placed in the same place that surfers advantage and we can start further back.)
- Examine a leash before each session. Change at the slightest sign of deterioration. (A loose board is a real danger)
- If possible try not to ever hold the oar in the falls.
- If you have to throw yourself under a espumón, hold the paddle firmly with both hands on the side of the knob, never on the side of the blade.
- After a fall, losing no time to stand up to paddle out of the inside, is more effective paddle on her knees to leave the danger zone.
- On the coexistence, always respect the rules and priorities of the surf.
